The-Dream's forthcoming album, "Love King" (set for release June 29 on Radio Killa/Def Jam) is the third set in a triology of albums from the singer/songwriter/producer, following 2007 "Love/Hate" and 2009's "Love vs Money." Said to be one of Michael Jackson's favorite songs, and sung lovingly at his memorial a year ago almost exactly by his brother Jermaine, this week's Mashup Monday goes all the way back to 1936 to famed silent film comedian Charlie Chaplin's bittersweet "Smile" as sung sweetly with a jazzy twist by hip-hop/R&B/pop mashup-unto-herself Janelle Monae.
Composed as a theme for a key moment in Chaplin's classic Great Depression-era movie "Modern Times," the last of the great silents and a commentary on the pitfalls of fully industrial 20th century life, "Smile" is one of those few songs that became a standard, recorded by everyone from the big-band era well into the age of hip-hop.
"Emotionally, I've been connected to this song for quite sometime," says Bad Boy artist Monae of why she chose to cover this song written nearly a half century before she was born. "It's one of those classic standards, it's been sung by a lot of the greats, Stevie Wonder to Nat King Cole to Judy Garland to Frank Sinatra."
It was Wonder's version, recorded in 1962, that was her introduction to the song; it made her cry the first time she heard it.
Michael Jackson, of course, also covered the song on his 1995 album "HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I." And the song was so important to the King of Pop that it was sung at his memorial.
Katy Perry holds at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a second week with "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, and further distances herself from the pack as the title takes both the Airplay and Digital Gainer awards. Downloads improve 11% to 353,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while listener impressions surpass the 100 million mark (105.2, up 18%), according to Nielsen BDS. Perry is the first female artist to claim simultaneous gainer awards while residing at No. 1 since Alicia Keys, with "No One" on the chart dated Dec. 1, 2007.
Usher remains at No. 2 with "OMG," while maintaining its No. 1 standing for a third week on Radio Songs. Also holding in place on the big chart is "Airplanes" by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams at No. 3.
Travie McCoy and Ke$ha swap spots as the former's "Billionaire" bounces 5-4 and the latter's "Your Love Is My Drug" dips 4-5. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" returns to its highest ranking (7-6). "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz featuring Ludacris falls 6-7.
When you start your chart life at No. 1, there's nowhere to go but down, but Eminem finds a way to rebound (11-8) with his former chart-topping debut "Not Afraid." Digital pre-order placement for the June 21 release of his album "Recovery" spurs downloads (up 11%) for the set's leadoff track as does increased radio play (up 7%), lifting the song back into the top 10 of the Hot 100 after a one-week respite.
Rounding out the top 10 are The Black Eyed Peas' "Rock That Body," which hold at No. 9 and Drake's "Find Your Love" which improves 13-10. "Love" is Drake's third top 10, all as a lead vocalist. He also visited the region with "Best I Ever Had" (No. 2 peak last July) and "Forever" (No. 8 in October).
Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith, star of the nation's No. 1 box office film "The Karate Kid," team up on the chart's top debut, "Never Say Never," at No. 33. The song, which plays during the closing credits of the film, sells 76,000 and opens at No. 15 on the Digital Songs tally.
The "Glee" season has come to an end and the cast goes out on a consistent note for the year, with five more entries on the Hot 100, led by "Faithfully" at No. 37. The troupe's first Journey cover, "Don't Stop Believin'" also re-enters the chart at No. 59 as the "Regionals" rendition performed during the season finale accounts for 84% of the title's 50,000 total downloads. "Believin" debuted at No. 4 on the Hot 100 in June 2009 and re-entered the list once before in September. In total, the song has spent seven weeks on the chart.
While some may ultimately remember the constant blaring of the vuvuzelas as the sound of the 2010 FIFA World Cup being contested in South Africa, a pair of songs emanating from the tournament are making chart noise. The competition's official song, "Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)" by Shakira featuring South African group Freshlyground debuts at No. 44 with 56,000 downloads. The track was performed during the Kick-off Concert in Johannesburg, broadcast by ABC on June 11, as was K'Naan's "Wavin' Flag" which moves 26,000 and re-enters at No. 90.
With her album "Bionic" now at retail, and opening at No. 3 on The Billboard 200, Christina Aguilera debuts at No. 66 with the title track, while re-entering at No. 75 and No. 99 with "Not Myself Tonight" and "WooHoo," respectively. She performed the three tracks medley-style on the MTV Movie Awards June 6 and collectively they sell 96,000 downloads.
Lil Jon returns to the Hot 100 as a lead artist for the first time in over four years as "Hey," featuring 3OH!3, hops on at No. 70. The rapper last helmed an entry when "Snap Yo Fingers" peaked at No. 7 in May 2006.
Other debuts dotting the chart are Ne-Yo's "Beautiful Monster" (No. 67), "If It's Love" by Train (No. 89) and OneRepublic's "Secrets" (No. 98)

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton on Tuesday sought to defuse a media furore he created by posting a picture on his Twitter account that seemed to suggest teen pop star Miley Cyrus had been photographed without wearing underwear.
The snapshot showed the "Hannah Montana" Disney idol, 17, climbing out of a car while wearing a short, white dress. The space between her legs was pixilated and carried a "warning" notice in Hilton's Twitter posting, which has some 2 million followers.
Although the photo was later removed, it sparked a flurry of news reports and talk among celebrity watchers over whether L.A.-based Hilton could be prosecuted for distributing child pornography, given that Cyrus is still a minor under U.S. law.
In a video riposte, Hilton said the controversy was as fake as the photo because Cyrus was "clearly wearing underwear."
"Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?" he said. "Do you think I am stupid enough to post a photo of Miley if she is not wearing any underwear down there?"
Hilton said he had posted the photo to highlight the "very unladylike fashion" in which Cyrus was getting out of the car.
The blogger's stunt coincides with moves by the teen singer to shed her squeaky-clean Disney image by releasing a raunchy music video for her new single "Can't Be Tamed," pretending to kiss a female dancer on stage and wearing figure-hugging black bodices.

British dance star Paul Oakenfold has recruited a host of big name artists for his next solo album "Pop Killer," including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls BarkleyvocalistCee-Lo and One Republic's Ryan Tedder.
"I've got some really good people on it," Oakenfold tells Billboard from his Los Angeles base, adding that the record is nearing completion and that he is eying a summer 2010 release date for the "very melodic, up-tempo and song driven" studio set.
According to Oakenfold, Tedder has written and sung a track for the album while Red Hot Chili Peppers has reworked an existing song from their catalog.
"They're doing an old song of theirs, which I took and [have] re-done and it's looking real good," the London-born artist tells Billboard, although he declined to reveal the name of the track.
Indian singer Kailash Kher has also recorded a track for the album, says Oakenfold, who says that "Pop Killer" would be "more club based" than his previous studio set, "A Lively Mind" (Perfecto/Maverick Records).
Boasting collaborations with the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams, hip-hop veteran Grandmaster Flash, Ryan Tedder and the late actress Brittany Murphy, "A Lively Mind" was released June 2006 and peaked at No.7 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. The album was subsequently nominated for a Grammy award in the category of "Best Electronic/Dance Album."
Last year, the artist released mix album "Perfecto Vegas" (Thrive) -- a 21-track dance compilation inspired by Oakenfold's long-running weekly residency at the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas - which entered the Billboard 200, peaking at No.66 in July 2009. The album also hit No. 5 on the Dance/Electronic albums listing.
In 2009, Oakenfold also resumed his long-running creative partnership with Madonna by co-producing "Celebration" -- the lead single to be lifted from the greatest hits album, also entitled "Celebration" (Warner Bros.) - as well as supporting Madonna on the 2009 U.K. and European leg of her record breaking "Sticky & Sweet" tour.
Although, Oakenfold is remaining tight lipped about what other A-list stars are likely to join Cee-Lo, Tedder and Red Hot Chili Peppers on "Pop Killer", he tells Billboard.biz there is likely to be at least one "other big name" on the album.
"I think people will be shocked with who I've got," he says. "I haven't signed the contract yet, but I think people will be very interested in what they hear."
Oakenfold's long-running residency at the Las Vegas, Palms Hotel & Casino continues throughout the summer. The DJ will also play a number of North America club dates this year, including Lima in Washington (May 20), Royale, Boston, (May 21), the Congress Theater, Chicago (May 22).

Create a new transparent document 670px * 400px at 72dpi as seen below.

To keep our psd file organized first click on the folder icon in the layer pallet 3 times to create three folders and name them FRAME, TEXT, and BACKGROUND respectively.
Create a new layer within the FRAME folder and name it frame. Activate the shape tool by typeing U, make sure the rectangular shape tool is selected, then draw out a square similar to the one below, leaving a little room on the top and bottom.

Activate the layer styles dialog box on your shape layer by double clicking on it or by going to LAYER >> LAYER STYLE >> BLENDING OPTIONS in the menu. Then enter the settings below.

Create a new layer above the frame layer by going to LAYER >> NEW >> LAYER in the menu, activate the text tool by typeing T, then type in your title using the settings below.

Within the BACKGROUND folder create a new pattern fill layer by going to LAYER >> NEW FILL LAYER >> PATTERN in the menu and choose the abstract water pattern you either installed or created in step #1 as seen below. Then set the layer opacity to 60%

Perhaps rape is the most convenient crime that could put down world leaders of today. This kind of lawsuit is mostly baseless, especially if without the help of laboratorial intervention to be able to come up with physical evidences. It is just the word of the claiming victim against word of the accused. Motivation may vary from personal advancement to political inclination.
A perfect example of a rape case sabotaging the good image of a leader is that of the recently acquitted former Deputy President Jacob Zuma of the Republic of South Africa. He was charged with the rape of a 31-year old HIV positive woman on December 6, 2005. The affair was used against Zuma by a concealed political contender.
Zuma, even before the rape trial case, had been eyed by many fellow contenders to be most likely winner of the presidential candidacy. He was regarded as the voice and the hand of the masses he had governed. Associated Press reviewed him as ‘a man who fought for the common man.” He also had the support of the African National Congress Youth League, and the South African Congress Trade and Union and South African Communist Party, both of which are influential alliances in the country.
Zuma was appointed Member of Executive Committee of Economic Affairs and Tourism on 1994. Due to the promising leadership he is performing, December of the same year he was elected National Chairperson of the ANC in Kwazulu-Natal. He was re-elected in the same position in 1996 election, and later in December 1997, he was elected Deputy President of the ANC. By 1999, he was appointed executive Deputy President of South Africa, carrying an air of the potential heir apparent of presidency of Thabo Mbeki.
Filing a rape case can be one of the techniques of an opposing party in attacking the very person of the leader of a certain group. An accused leader may probably be innocent at all. A very evident of using rape charges to hinder the possible tenure of a leader by someone else’s political objective is visible in the case of former Malaysian Deputy Minister Anwar Ibrahim. He was accused of sodomy and sex with five men by his former superior, the former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. He was arrested and jailed in 1998, and by 2004 he was declared not guilty of the crime as it was overturned.
One of the former alleged victims, Dr. Munawar Anees, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, claimed that his testimony against Anwar was coerced by unnamed authorities as written in his personal journal called The Human Imperative.
Anwar is respected for his principle standpoint against corruption and for his competent administration of the Malaysian economy during the country’s financial crisis at its peak during his term. He was also regarded as one of the forefathers of the Asian Renaissance and a leading advocate of human rights. It was eminent that in the early 1990’s Anwar had been groomed for leadership to succeed Mahathir bin Mohamad. Periodically, Mohamad had been appointing Anwar to be acting Prime Minister, but their good relationship started to deteriorate when differences in administrative viewpoints set in.
Republic of Uganda’s retired Colonel Dr. Kizza Besigye’s case shares similar ground of this kind of injustice and political trend. In fact his case was very apparent of such charges in assaulting his good public image. Besigye, an opposition leader of Forum for Democratic Change and also a February 2006 presidential candidate, was charged and arrested with rape and treason case. On March 07, 2006 he was cleared with the charges filed against him. Judge John Bosco Katutsi who resided the case stated that "the state has dismally failed to prove its case against the accused." Besigye’s lawyers have seen government participation of the charges against him to disfigure his potential leadership, if not to keep him from running the presidency. The technique against him upset the vote he gained from the previous election, where he garnered only 37% vote against Muveni with 59% vote.
Besigye is known for his popularity and charisma among Uganda people. He was often viewed as the only viable candidate to won over Museveni for presidency during their first collision on 2001 election. Museveni was declared in the midst of violent incidents during the announcement of the result, on the belief that cheating strategies took place during the incidence mostly participated in by Museveni’s party. Besigye appealed to have the results nullified, but his request was refused when he was falsely accused of treason right after the 2001 elections.
This political trend also extends to other aspects of leadership. The Religious sector can also be influenced by this convenient form of character assault. Eliseo Soriano, a church leader of the Members Church of God International and a host of the international religious program, Ang Dating Daan (The Old path), was accused of rape by an excommunicated member of the sect. Daniel Veridiano, who later converted to another religious sect known for being strongly criticized by Soriano for their false teachings, sued Soriano for rape in September 2005. The case was shortly dismissed due to lack of evidence. The dismissed case was however filed again in higher court by the country’s Department of Justice Secretary, Raul Gonzales, who is not in anyway involved with the case.
Soriano is known for his principled teachings that he claims are mostly based on the bible. He became noted countrywide and eventually is catching up fame worldwide for his broadcasts in cyberspace and the international domain. He is remarkable for his frank and bold exposure of some religions’ questionable teachings and practices, all of which he declares are concealed forms of corruption toward their members financially and spiritually. Many religious sect leaders have attempted to gag him from broadcasting by fabricating charges of crimes against him, but these were eventually dismissed and cleared.
Soriano’s religious program was even recently awarded Most Informative Religious Program of the year by an internationally renowned Gawad Amerika Awards on November 18, 2006. Many of his supporters sense that this kind of achievement aggravates his enemies’ desire of wanting him dead.
If another effective leader is attempted to be shot down with a rape case by those opposed to his work, it will not be a surprise anymore. It has become a trend.
The Tony Awards is not the event where you expect to see So-Cal punk rockers center stage -- but then again, "American Idiot" is not your typical Broadway musical. Green Day rocked the stage at the Tony's 64th awards show last night (June 13), performing with the cast of their acclaimed 'American Idiot' musical, which was nominated for three awards. The show lost Best Musical to "Memphis" (it did take home trophies for Best Scenic Design and Best Lighting Design), but that's ok -- Billie Joe and co. kicked off the event with a loud, raucous performance that ensured that no matter what, their performance would be the one that everyone would remember.

The Xbox 360 is an interesting game system. On the one hand, it has great games, an amazing online infrastructure in place, and a large community of gamers available at every time of day ready to play you in whatever game you choose.
On the other hand however, you have the red ring of death, disc drive errors, and endless amounts of frustration when one of these things happen to you. The towel trick entails you wrapping your system in a towel, and powering it on until it overheats. The theory is that once you let it cool down, turn it back on, your Xbox will be fixed. This often works but only for a short time, and in can have many negative long term effects on your gaming system.
Xbox 360 E74 Fix - Do It Yourself
The Xbox 360 E74 fix I recommend is to get a guide and to do it yourself. While this may seem daunting at first, I can assure you that with proper instructions it is very simple. Most of the tools required to do an Xbox 360 E74 fix are common household items. The other good thing about doing it yourself is that you can finish in under 2 hours and the fix is permanent.
At first we were doubtful that a edgy box appearing in a little Flash ad from Italy last night could be legit, but Microsoft just got real with the new Xbox 360. (That's all it's officially called -- just "the new Xbox 360.") It'll launch today priced for $299, while the old Elite will stick around for $249 and the Arcade will drop to $149. The new box is crazy sexy in glossy black with touch-sensitive buttons, and Microsoft says it's "whisper quiet," with one large fan instead of two -- the new 45nm chipset undoubtedly generates less heat to begin with. On the features front, it's got integrated 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, five USB ports, and 250GB of storage on a removable hard drive, although it's not a standard drive or same drive as the old console, and older Memory Units won't work, either. Upgraders can use a USB-to-Xbox hard drive connector cable to migrate to the new box, however. There's also a "custom Kinect port" on the back that looks like an HTC-style ExtUSB port, and it also seems like the power supply has moved inside the case, which is a welcome change. New Xbox 360 units are shipping to retailers now, with availability expected later this week, and MS conference attendees are actually getting theirs shipped today.
If you're in Europe, don't fret, as yours is coming soon. Microsoft's official Xbox Twitter account has confirmed the console hits there on July 16.
Update: We just got the official fact sheet, check it after the break. Oh, and we're calling it the "Stealthbox" to keep all the models straight. It just feels right, you know?
Update 2: According to a Microsoft representative, the Xbox 360 Original will still be sold while there's stock, but they're not making any more of them. Once they're gone, they're gone -- and we'd assume a new $199 variant of the new design will eventually be released to fill the void.

Traditional therapies for lung cancer treatment have included staples like surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. These lung cancer treatment options have been tried and tested in scores of patients for many years. But these types of treatment options may not be right for all lung cancer sufferers. Some patients cannot tolerate the side effects of these treatments, or may not be well enough to undergo surgery. Luckily, new lung cancer treatments are still being developed for targeting this devastating disease. Among the newest treatment options is photodynamic therapy.
This experimental new treatment differs from chemotherapy, which uses drugs to kill cancerous cells, and radiotherapy, which uses high-dose radiation to destroy cancer. Instead, photodynamic therapy employs light to kill off cancer cells. First, a drug is injected into the blood or put on the skin. This drug can be absorbed by cancer cells once it is inside the body. Next, light is employed. This may take place within a few hours of the drug being given to the patient, or it may take place after several days. Certain kinds of light cause a reaction from the drug. The drug reacts with oxygen, producing a chemical that can kill nearby cancer cells.
That which makes the photodynamic process reffective also limits it, however. If light cannot reach the drug, it cannot cause the necessary reaction that kills the cancer. Therefore, it only works in places in the body that light can reach, such as the skin and the lining of internal organs. For lung cancer patients, this means that the therapy could be an option for those with mesothelioma, which affects the lining around the lungs. However, even in the case of mesothelioma, if the cancer has spread to many places throughout the body, photodynamic therapy will not be effective because it will not be able to reach all of those sites.
However, there are many benefits to this new brand of treatment as well. It has no long-term side effects, for example. Other therapies, particularly chemotherapy, have long-term side effects that some patients cannot or do not wish to tolerate. And, photodynamic therapy is much less invasive than surgery used to find and remove a cancerous tumor.
Like surgery, photodynamic can precisely target cancerous cells. But unlike radiotherapy and other treatments, it can be used many times on the same part of the body if necessary. And patients will not need to be concerned about much, if any, scarring from the procedure. There are downsides however. Patients who get this type of treatment could be sensitive to light, both in their eyes and skin. This sensitivity could last six weeks or more. And patients could also experience temporary nausea and vomiting from the treatment.
Currently, photodynamic therapy is being explored experimentally as an option for mesothelioma patients. It is already in use for non-small cell lung cancer, however. Researchers are also exploring the possibility of combining this therapy with other forms of treatment. For example, it could be combined with surgery. If surgery was used to remove cancer from the lungs, then photodynamic therapy could be used on top of that to keep it from coming back in places like the pleura, or lining of the lung. Researchers are also hoping to one day make photodynamic therapy useful as a treatment against large, solid tumors. In the United States, the Federal Drug Administration has already approved several photodynamic drugs.
